Very common. Have you noticed any water inside the car at all. Check your plenum chamber, where the battery sits, for water build up due blocked drainage holes (leaves and gunk) and report back.

I'll check this thread again in the morning

Thanks again for replying mycarsavw....love the name. Anyway i was wondering about the MAF and as a lot of threads on the forum here relate to this fault, i tried disconnecting the sensor. All seemed to be the same and the power hadnt returned....

I was wondering does this indicate that the MAF is fine if it stills runs like a dog even if disconnected? Or does it still need checked out. I also read that, i think it was Crasher who said this..."you will wreck the MAF if you try and clean it". Thanks again pal.....

secondly, there is not a speed limit as such on limp mode, it limits the way the car is driven, limits the revs, it just stops you driving the car normally, it is 'limp home' mode, ie, simply ticking over to get you home.

i would say with a fair amount of certainty that the loss of power/limp mode is probably not anything to do with the brake change.

the symptoms you describe are indicative of a failing maf, if your brakes are OK and without fault, let's forget about that.

the other thing of course, could be a turbo related issue.

BUT no matter what it is, if the car is in limp home mode, there will be codes logged, i would suggest a fault read asap to help establish the cause.

i would imagine crasher will be along soon to comment

Hello Eshrules sorry if it felt like i was throwing an attitude, but its the nature of the Irish, i couldnt reach my dummy...Haha...No i wasnt speaking with a tone.

Anyway mate, thanks for replying and i have read up on a few of your threads and you seem fairly knowledgeable.

I like the idea of the MAF being the troubled part rather than a turbo related problem.

Could the Vanes be sticking if it is the Turbo?

Is there a method of cleaning the turbo if i took it off, rather than opening it up, like maybe filling it with some substance, that could release the build up?

She is booked in tomorrow for a fault reading and i will post the results. Not being rude or anything, but there is a lot of threads on the forum that seem to have the same symptons as what i am experiencing, but when i get to the end they never say what happened or how they fixed their problems.

I know you talk about Limp Home Mode, that to me would be around 15-30mph would it not. But i can still gather speed, the only thing is there is no response, when i floor it. It only kicks when i hit around 2500rpm.

Esh i was also looking at a few of the threads and the diagnostics equipment you are selling. I know you are doing the group buy for the cable, but do you still sell the Vagcom Handheld pro...let me know...Bodferret
