iPod Adapter with DAB add-on?

Hi

I've recently bought an A3 2.0FSI and am very happy with the car and the iPod cable I had fitted inside the glovebox.

I'm wondering if any of the iPod accessories which give the iPod DAB radio capability will work with the cable.

The iPod cable gives access to 5 playlists on the iPod and an 'all songs' playlist, plus allows random functions on all. I'm hoping that if I plug a DAB module into the iPod, then connect the iPod to the cable, I'll get DAB in the car.

I realise the reception might not be great, but most of my driving will be in the London area, where DAB reception is usually fine.

Any advice apppreciated!

You almost need a pass through DAB adapter for the ipod.

Why?

because either the iPod cable coming from the stereo or the DAB adapter plugs into the iPod. Not both.

Good point. Have you ever seen such as pass-through? I must admit that I've not.

There's also the question of whether the Audi interface would support the radio output. You can only play the first 5 playlists on the iPod or a list of all tracks.

This suggests that perhaps any radio output might not come through.

It's a moot point if the passthrough doens't exist though!

I've never seen one. Not sure if you can get a DAB add on to the stereo instead.
