Mayo under oil cap, 99 Polo 1.4 CL

While checking oil cap today, I found mayo under the cap. Also coolant was little bit lower than min mark, so topped up.
3 Months back had cambbelt water pump change from VW dealer. Also changed temp sensor 3 months back.
I use my car everyday for short journeys
Can anybody please let me know if it's a serious problem. My car has done 46K

A light coating of mayo is nothing to worry about, it is common at this time of year after lots of short journeys. Just keep an eye on it.

Many thanks for reply, it's just light coating, also while cheacking oil with dip stick it's clear no mayo. I would keep a check on it.
Also my car due for major serice, should I ask garage to do compression test.

A compression test would not show up a tiny head gasket weep, even a cooling system pressure test may not show it up.
