hi fellow audi members,im after some advice please asap,am thinking of buying an a8 4.2 quattro approx 1995 to 1999,any advice on how good these are, what gadgets they got in them, any known problems etc, have had bmw 535 sports in the past but a mate of mine had a 3.7 quattro a8 and he said how fantastic it was.ive had evo's,subarus and a couple of skylines in the past so i do like my fast cars,i know th eaudi probably wont be as quick or good on handling but im willing to let that go,as if i get a 4.2 quattro i would be getting it chipped and a stainless exhaust system put on,please help me decide do i go for a bmw or the audi,
    thanks gav

dont really know much about the a8 or the bmw,but i think to be honest theyll both handle like a canal boat,as for power dont no that either but ill stick me neck out and say the a8 will **** the beemer from a standing start,as for top end speed, well itll be enough to get you an instant ban,so lets look at the facts!!! youll either kill yourself trying to go round a corner too fast or youll get nicked doin 100 plus and lose your licence, the choise is yours!!!ok just done a quick check i belive the beemers got 240bhp and the a8 4.2 235bhp,so nowt init really and i still say the a8 will do it on a standing start, hope you enjoy which ever you choose, good luck

Audi's TC system is far better than that of BMW or Mercedes in my opinion. It is still effective, but it does allow you to have some fun before it fully kicks in. Mine is FWD too, so a Quatrro must be absolutely brilliant. In my opinion build quality is far better in Audis too. A good toy to have is dual zone climate control. In mine it's brilliant.
