The overuse of pointless adjectives in advertising:

"These aren't just any potatoes, they are Jersey-grown Maris Piper potatoes..."

Maris Piper being the most common variety, used by most chippies. The Jersey ones are usually the first ones ready in the UK.

I must admit though, they do a good job of making you want that food in the M&S ads.

The missus popped into M&S to see about getting some of those but said they were tiny.

I bet they tasted great, though...

they are tiny for 2 reasons (imho)

1) cholesterol. i felt my arteries furring up just looking at it.
2) they are incredibly rich. i could easily have shared one and been satisfied.

Charity collectors who shake their tins & tell you just who they are representing.
Credit Card salesbints, who 'mug' you when you wander in a motorway services (when all you want is a dump).
The Italian muppets who try to convince you to buy a leather jacket (as they have "just come from a trade show & only have a few left").You'll spot them in a FIAT prowling motorway services' car parks.
Motorway Services in the Summer...full of people (typically just got off a coach), who really should'nt be let out on their own!
Any Easyjet flight from Liverpool... full of people who shouldn't be let back IN to the UK...
Geneva Airport...shops shut at (about) 8pm.
'Travellers', who knock on your door...asking if you'd like your drive redoing "because we've got a bit of a load left..which will just do your drive"
