    Default 1999 A4 Avant Questions? – 05-02-2008,08:30 PM
    Hi guys,

    Just got a 1999 A4 Avant 1.9 TDI (AFN) SE, well pleased but have a few minor questions . . . :

    1. what oil would you recommend (done 130k miles)?

    2. I believe it has the 'sports' suspension, what shocks do I need to buy as GSF and ECP don't seem to distinguish clearly!?

    Oil wise, anything with a 10w40 semi synthethic is sufficient for these engines but, i always use Castrol Edge 5w30 Long Life oil and change that once a year( i am driving my car hard !). Sport suspension should have Boge red shock absorbers. I suggest you upgrade to Bilstein, KW , or stick with the stock shocks.
