Had a fault code test done today, wasn’t surprised to see faults with the alarm as the horn doesn’t sound when activated. Here’s the list:

    01134 alarm horn – h12 no communication
    01370: alarm via interior scanning
    00962: alarm via slope sensor
01368: alarm via luggate compart. Switch
01371: alarm via door contact switch driv.side
01574: alarm via door contact switch rear right

I take it that the first code is in turn making the other codes come up (i hope), is this correct? And I also take it that all that needs to be done is a new horn be fitted. I heard they have their own battery, if the batt’ is the cause, can this be replaced on it’s own?

The following codes I was surprised to see as I haven’t experienced any of the problems:

01561 door rear left sporadic: deadlock does not disengage
01334 door control unit rr-j389 sporadic: no or incorrect setting
00935 electric window motor rr-v27 sporadic: does not unlock
01562 door rear right deadlock does not disengage
01804 door warning light, rear right – w38 sporadic:electr. Fault in current circ uit.

The last one (door warning light) I’ve seen. Sometimes it doesn’t come on but the others!???? No problems with windows or locking or unlocking. Can anyone shed some light?

    Last but not least:

17698 p1290 engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor at radiator outlet –g83:signal too large. Recently had the tem’ sender replaced so awaiting Crashers advice on this in another thread.

So, quite a list eh!? Any comments?

The alarm faults are triggers for the alarm and nothing unusual. The horn is common and means it needs replacing BUT it could be water in the convenience unit.

Cheers crasher. Can i get to that convenience unit without taking the seat out? not sure of its exact location.

Also, what do you make of the locking faults? like i said, never experienced any problems with the locking, unlocking or windows. The only thing i have noticed is that when i turn the ignition on the locks all seem to 'sound' nothing happens to them they just make a noise. This doesn't always happen but happens more often than not, could this be related or is it normal?

You need to lift up the passengers sill trim and get under the carpet and the sound deadening may be wet under there. The conv unit is in a black plastic box which you can lift out and it is easier if you disconnect the earth terminal on the floor and release the wiring clips.

If it's wet, would that have been caused by the plenum chamber water problem i had or is it possible for water to come in elsewhere. Is the unit where passengers feet are or under seat?

Yes the water would have come from the plenum chamber.
I think the CCU is under the seat.

No need to take it out, just slide it back. It is under the carpet.
