VW Passat B5 - ABS - Dash warning light flicking on intermittently

Hi
For the last while I notice the ABS warning light flicking on every 50 Miles or so for no reason.
When this happens I experience a brief "pull" while the ABS appears to momenterily kicks in.
Have had it with the VW dealers who cannot find anything.


Any ideas out there.

This type of fault is almost impossible to trace because finding it relies on the ecu logging an error that you can pick up in diagnostics. If VW dealer didn't find any faults logged, you may have to wait until the car logs a fault. Trying to find the fault any other way will be very time consuming and possibly very costly as you keep replacing suspect parts. You may be experiencing an intermittent abs ecu fault, this happens on a number of VAG vehicles and usually results in the ecu being repaired or replaced.
