I'm having a problem with the air conditioning on my Audi A4 (1.9TDi, Dec 02, 88K miles) - in that the ECONO light is always on.

The manual suggests I use this for efficiency only, and it disables some of the cooling functions. With the light on, I also get a lot of misting on the windows, which it mentions in the manual.

The only time the light goes off is when I switch the heating system off altogether.

Please can someone advise what I'd need to check - or is it a question of taking it to a dealer ?

    Any advice gratefully accepted.

    Thanks, Andy.

    you prolly need a regas.
The system won't switch to AUTO if the pressure is low to protect the compressor

Thanks Kite - is this something that Kwik Fit or similar can do, or should I go to a dealer or VW/Audi specialist ?

Kwikfit can do a regas, not sure they can fix a leak.
It might be better to find a local aircon specialist and have the system checked out.
