    hi all can anybody tell me the best way to bleed the cooling system on a passat 130 tdi its an 02 thanks bill

    Hi Loosen the coolant hose on heat exchanger and pull back the hose sufficiently so that the bleeder hole is no longer sealed by the connection.
    ‒ Top up coolant until it flows out of the bleeder hole in coolant hose .

    hi kenney where is the heat exchanger is it the aluminium block just below the oil filter tube thanks bill

    Hi The hoses to the heat exchanger (matrix) run from the rear of the engine to the plenium chamber.

    Topping up the header is not enough.

    You need to undo it and raise so that it is higher than the bleed hole. As soon as you get coolant coming out of the bleed hole, whilst still hold the header tank up, slide the hose back on so you don't get air drawn back in.
