top brake light

Hi have a sharan 1.8 turbo 1999, the brake lights work on the car but the top one in the rear windscreen doesnt, replaced all the bulbs but no difference any ideas guys, still trying to get hold of a manual

check the wiring that comes out of the Offside of the tailgate and goes into the back of the car ... odds are there`ll be some broken or cracked wiring in there.... repair as necessary and this should sort the problem

somebody beat me to it!! the wires on the sharan where they go thru any door/body are prone to breaking, the insulation goes hard and brittle,then breaks the wire,just open the rubber cover and tape them up i use a self adhesive rubber tape that sticks to itself and forms a flexible shroud, can't remember what its called! (sign of old age that)

i`ve spent far too many years doing stuff like this .... did three years at a *cough*ford*cough* dealer`s fixing problems like this LOL
