can anyone tell me what maf readouts would be deemed normal for a 1.8 n/a code APT? idle, 2,4,6 thou rpm, peak over WOT run to redline? however it is done.

i've been told to expect a peak of around %80 of horsepower in g/s, seems a bit crude to me.

why does it appear crude to you? to produce power you require air and fuel, the amount of which is proportional to the power produced.

maybe i am wrong, it just seems a bit inaccurate to apply one rule to so many engines with so many variables.

i guess my training (in a scientific environment) tends to push me away from the rule of thumb.
