For some time the exhaust emission stabilizer light keeps coming on. I have cotacted the dealer and they say the car is running OK, and they turn it off. It comes back on aftera couple of weeks. This has been going on for more than a year and I am fed up with it. I have now stuck a piece of black plastic over th light so I don't have to see it. Has anyone got a solution? My car? Did they give you a fault code report? I am slightly confused by the description of the light
    exhaust emission stabilizer
as that seems like the emissions workshop or possibly the Electronic Stabilisation Program light. Can you clarify this?

It is an orange light in the form of an engine block. VW tell me the car is running OK although two faults are registered on their equipment. They told me its nothing to worry about but I am fed up with seeing the warning light on all the time hence the piece of plastic!

So they didn't give you a report as to what the fault codes were? You need to go back and ask them if they still have a record of what they were or get them to do a re-read as obviously there is a problem.

The light comes on for all manor of things - you need to get it scanned ideally to see whats up. I had mine on about a year ago when the Turbo hose hairline cracked. Replaced the hose and reset the ECU and all was well.
