One of my favourite roads is the A39 from Bude down to Wadebridge, quite a few hills and bends, Best driven either early morning or late evening when there is very little traffic. last summer i was traveling down towards wadebridge and experienced a violent electrical storm, it lit up the surrounding hills. Just wished i had my camera it was a sight well worth seeing.

I have ried the A590 towards Barrow and i lost count of the speed cameras, Good road though..

Sorry, this may come across as a bit dismissive, but the best roads in the UK are on the West Coast of Scotland. Fort William to Mallaig (quoted by JayKay as a favourite) is a good place to start...

Pacific highway 1 from LA to San Francisco. Always wanted to drive it after watching the film Play Misty for Me with Clint Eastwood and I did drive it in 1988. Beautiful coast road. If you are too old to remember the film please don't post and tell me just how young you are!

The one mile up hill gradient two lane stretch of the Bishops Stortford bypass. It is a natural drag strip that really tests the torque and power of a car in comparison to an equally minded driver and it's a pretty safe stretch of road. I once got creamed by a battered old American V8 in my trick chipped, cold air intaked, free flow exhaust BMW 325i coupe. Note for any impressionable readers I do not condone this kind of behaviour on the roads.

M11 from my home to work in Cambridge and back is pretty good Eshrules. I am always going the opposite way to the main traffic flow and it's a nice 30 minute motorway commute.

Oh yeah, I'm in touch with that; I used to commute from North Berwick to Leith in my Fiat Coupe 20VT, but then I moved back to Edinburgh and traded it in for an A3 1.8T Q sport. That lasted 4 weeks.

I've tried to include a West Coast picture, I don't know if it'll work...

Went to Cali last year and just booked to go in April this year. Going to do at least part of Highway 1. We got a Dodge Charger, probably only a V6 but who cares!

My favorite bit or bits of road are the Evo triangle around North Wales.

When I Had my Impreza(classic with 290 Bhp) it was one of the most scenic, and empty bits of tarmac I`d seen in a long time.

Obviously the roads were great, twisty and undulating.

Around Bala lake is nice too!
