Hi to u all.
Just want to share my experience of a failing brake light switch with you on my 2003 Polo 1.2 . Originally alerted to the fault by the illumination of the EPC light. Bought a new switch from GFS for £5.70. lights working again. Messing about with the fuses managed to put the air bag light on. Found a garage who would reset the light for a tenner. While the guy was sorting that he informed me that it was showing a brake light fault, and the oxygen sensor was faulty. He cleared the brake light fault and I bought a lambda sensor and changed that. (The car would hesitate on accelaration occasionally). Went to have the sensor fault cleared whislt that was cleared told It was showing a brake light switch fault again, bought another switch from GFS, fitted short while later EPC light on again hesitation returned. This time bought original part from VW £8.14 problem solved. Sorry this is so long but the saga went on for a long time. I guess the moral of this story is be careful when buying non original parts. Just quickly has anyone had experience Of a VAG 405 MaxScan thinking of buying one.
