    hiya my dream has vanished of putting 130brake diesel in my old van with amount of work involved. so does anyone know if a bigger turbo with or without manifold will fit on my 97 1.9td engine code abl?????????

    Yes it will but by it's self that won't do anything other than make it gutless at low revs. Read up on the 'old' idi engine and tuning at the vwgtd forum.

    Or do as you suggested and fit a newer engine, the tdi is about identical to yours just need the loom and ecu and the PD only has a bit bigger head I don't see why that's an issue.

    Sorted now cheers picked up a recon turbo and now the turd is flyin again.
