I SAW AN "RS4" - B6 53 or 52 PLATE ON THE MOTORWAY..... well far from anyway....

Today while in standing traffic on the M60 clockwise at 6:00pm i was side by side a "so called" RS4 B6....

Things which really make me laugh is when people put badges on their cars to "try" and make people think its something its not...

First of all, Audi did not make a RS4 - on the B6 Shape..

The car had 18 inch STAR alloys on, "S line" body kit, (not even the S4 kit) car was in Sliver, no Xenon's with what looked like a cream/Grey cloth tirm...

As said above, the car did have a S line kit on it with Twin tail pipes, so it was a 1.8T or a 3.0... also not grill badge or even a quatrro badge...

Plus it didnt have chrome door trim or even the after market chrome mirrors.. which would mean it was a sport or even a base car...

SO>>> if you are the owner of this car and saw me in my BLUE A4, laughing at you, you know why...

if you are a member here i would be interested in knowing why you put the badge on??

My advice if you want to try to "pretend" its something its not, try getting an S4 badge on the rear, one of the grill, chrome mirrors and chrome window suroounds.... plus a new engine...

any way... theres my little rant........

Also i saw a R32 Mk4 golf which looked like a 1.6 match a few months ago but i wont go into that! LOL!!

Whats your thoughts on people with daft badges??

    Rick

They should be rounded up and have badges inserted into various body cavities until death
You may think I'm being helpful yet sarcastic, this is only because I feel I need to help you to help yourself in the future

Hold on guy's I feel you're being a bit unfair. How do you know that they haven't done an "RS4" conversion?

The picture in my avatar is my MKI Golf GTi Convertible. I did a MKII 16v full engine/transmission conversion on it and badged it as a 16v....because it now is. Anyone who knows VW's will know that VW NEVER made a MKI Golf Convertible 16v, but this one is and so is badged accordingly.

Anyway IMO, if someone does want to badge their car as something it may not be it is up to them as it is THEIR sar to do what they want with it!

My last car was a C43 AMG Mercedes. Pretty rare car (only 400 made in RHD) but genuinely quick. It was debadged as well, for extra subtlety.. there are a couple of 911 owners out there who were probably left scratching their heads as to what had just run away from them.

I prefer the Q-car approach, as I don't like to draw attention to myself. But if someone wants to label up their 1.1 Escort as a 3.2 Turbo Nutter *******, it's their choice. If that's what floats your boat, then good luck. I'll still be where I want to be before you, though..

    Cheers,

    Plug

There was a Clio on ebay which was made to look like a V6, looked nice! Shame it had more than 2 seats and was only a 1.2. I think my bike is faster. Also saw a 'Cosworth' yesterday at KFC, i doubt it was but looked alright.

Because it sounded like it was a 1.8T and looked like a stock car with a badge on..

Just let them come up against the real thing and be rather embarrassed, or worse, be embarrassed by something a lot slower than an RS4.

I too prefer the stealth approach. hehe

I liken the "it's not really a fast car but it does have a fast car badge so must be" illusion to the people that try to make their car appear faster by adding an over the top bodykit or Meccano looking spoiler. Are they stupid enough to think that it will make a difference?

They should put their Meccano to better use:

I mean, it must all weigh quite a lot, so adding this weight will only help slow it down. What was a fast Astra is now slower than a 1.8.

perhaps these people are beyond embarrassment or think they are funny, or think that no one will notice.

I've got it, they just want to try and make it onto Top Gear's Website fr Garbage cars:

I saw an Escort yesterday that was modded to look like an Impreza. Had the eyebrows to change the shape of the headlights, scooby spoiler and painted in the Impreza blue. From a far it almost pulls it off - what a waste of time

Surely you are aware that car manufacturers don't make 1.2 Corsas (etc) with the sufficient downforce, so fitting one to a 10 year old nail is actually a safety feature
