    Hi,

on my 2002 golf mk4 (1.6 se) the rear lights are not coming on even though the front sidelights and headlights are working.

Maybe you guys have a better idea as to the problem but my first guess would be that it's a fuse but which one? The tips and maintenance manual has a fuse symbol guide but theres nothing for related to rear lights...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Steve

Check the wiring to the tailgate as they are notorious for breaking inside the boot and cost big bucks to repair at the dealer. Is your hatch closing/opens ok ?. Also see if the bulbs are not blown ! Usually when its the fuse lights/interior lights wont work but pull each one in turn and see if they blown. Replace with the same rating one.
