    GET RID OF THEM!

Just wanted to say hello - Im Matt from Northampton and im rocking a 3 Door MK3 Golf with a few subtle mods

the main one is a pair of 18" Digital Design 99 subwoofers where the backseats should be!

Slightly Lowered due to 8 batteries in the boot!

running a pair of 3000wrms amps - one per sub

Im a regular over at www.talkaudio.co.uk (any TA members say hi please) and have aquired this car as part of my love for loud low bass.

I purchased the car with the wall already built but i have installed the equipment myself. Apart from the batteries the power system is stock but i have a 210a alt going in soon as well as plans to matt the paint.

I look forward to being able to add to the knowledge on the forum - im no car expert but i do know my bass!

Hehe had a few hairy moments doing the bolts up but managed to survive! the trick is not to use a big spanner

Cheers Malc, its good to be here

and before it starts I am not a boy racer, Im a fan of music and i love my music loud. I compete in dB Drag which is a sound of format that showcases loud bass. Im not one for the traffic light disco. Yes I will pound my tunes at shows and on the motorway but Im not one for driving around the city centre with it blaring (although I must admit to setting off the odd car alarm in multi storey car parks in my yoof).

There are a big group of car audio enthusiasts on TA that are all for the positive side of in car entertainment and we do our best to show the sport (if you can call it that) in the best possible light.

The Amps draw so much current that without upping the amperage off the battery / batteries, all the lights in the car would go dim every time there was a beat, and the car could even stall.

Power capacators sometimes overcome this but not to the extent in the installation above.

Hope i'm right in what i'm saying....
