  1. 1.8T limited Edition

I am looking to change my car around the end of the year. I know its a long time away so im getting a short list ready.

The 1.8T Limited Edition caught my attention, there 04/54 cars that can be had for around £8k which seems very good value to me. They do seem pretty loaded. What are your thoughts of this? Whats it like compared to a standard 1.8T s-line?

Also what power upgrades are available other than remaps?

Lastly, is it worth paying this amount of money as the B8 is now out? The B6 is the old, old shape now. Hoepfully they will be around £6-7k at the end of the year.

As far as i am aware the S-Line and limited editions use the same bodykit, the s-line has larger 5 spoke wheels, 18" compared to 17" 9 spoke on limited. The bodykit is NOT the same as the GMBH kit which looks a bit more agressive. Inside the car the s-line has half leather and a 6 speed box (manual ones) and i am pretty sure the s-line is kitted out with more/better stuff inside, i have read that the limited edition does not have the DISS system (tells you mpg, av. speed miles left in tank etc.) S- line also has black roof lining and possibly bose sound system. Ah i nearly forgot, the 1.8T s-line is 190 BHP compared to 163 BHP on limited1.8T. I may have missed some points but if you see both cars for sale locally have a look at both and then you have a proper comparison.

    Thank you for the reply,

the only difference i can see is the 18" wheels, black headlining and DIS. But the limited editions seems to be worth £1.5-2k less which is alot.

What were the new prices of these vehicles, you may find the s-line was say 25,000 new and the limited edition say 22,000 new (estimated) so as secondhand values drop, the s-line will keep a higher price, although if you log onto the va..hall website you can get a FREE glasses guide comparison. The choice really comes down to money, although i think i would opt for any of the two as long as it had lowish miles and FSH, i would still say try to look at both models and get a clear understanding of any extras as these can add value, e.g full leather or sat nav, bose sound system, cd changer etc etc. Happy hunting............

Your right, the s-line did cost £2k more when new.

Currently the limited editions can be had for around £8k, how much do you think they will be worth around the end of the year??

As a rough guide you could price up 2 cars now using the glass's guide with 1 year between them and use the difference as an estimate to the rough price drop. Not forgetting the depreciation is very high during the first three years and then levels a bit more. Not forgetting the fact that the used car market is saturated and there are some good deals about, some private ads are well overpriced (trying their luck i guess), its worth putting in an offer below book and walking away leaving a contact no. you never know your luck especially if they are desperate for a sale (new car/need money etc) hope this is of some help, regards.
