As far as Bio diesel goes, there is no problem using it with the PD engine. A colleague of mine runs has Passat on B100 which he makes himself and has done so for the past three years without problems. I to run my Passat on B50 quite often. I cant make sufficient to run it too often but then my car has got nearly 300,000 miles on the clock and sometimes it is a little hard to start on the Bio. My wife's golf (also a PD engine) runs very well on it as does my son's Clio. There is no need to change fuel tanks or fit heaters unless you are planning to use veg oil or waste veg oil. these last two are indeed "thick" and likely to cause problems but properly reacted biodiesel is unlikely to cause any problems. You will notice a slight increase in fuel consumption and I'm told a reduction in power however although I did spot that the fuel consumption dropped from typically 55mpg to 50mpg I didn't notice any fall off in performance. if you can run on Bio then great, Bio has extra lubricity, it is added to standard diesel to keep pumps lubricated as much as for any other reason and the particulates are reduced too. All round there is nothing but benefits to using it, but make sure that it is of good quality. Richard
