    Hi,

I was very disappointed to discover that the 2006 1.9TDi MK5 Golf I recently purchased, does not support MP3s! I have the 6 disk CD changer installed as well. Does anyone know if this unit has some type of auxiliary input for a MP3 player? Or is there a way to wire an MP3 player in? I've had a look at the Xcarlink site but I think my RCD 300 unit is not supported. I would apprecaite any info on how to add a MP3 player or USB reader device! Thanks!

Yes, I will go along with that.

Just fitted an Xcarlink to my Golf Plus with RCD 300. The Xcarlink lead just plugs into the CD slot in the back of the RCD 300 (there are two leads so one plugs into the back of the radio where you remove your current CD player lead from, and the other connects with your existing CD player lead) and "voila" you should have two lots of CD players available to you. One will be your original 6 x CD player and the other will be a virtual 6 x CD player which can play up to 99 MP3 tracks on each virtual CD. Much better than the MP3 equipped RCD 300.

I use an SD card with 2 GB, which is plenty of space.

Have a look on eBay for your Xcarlink, make sure it is for RCD 300 when you buy it.

It seems that the very latest ones also support Bluetooth as well!

    Good luck.

Google is your friend! Put Xcarlink into Google and go from there.

Prices range from £50 to £90, depending where you buy.

I bought mine off eBay Australia! Paid in AU$. Delivered from China to France!

    About £55!
