ok,it go's like this, lowered my car using 'koni lowering springs' i replaced the front shockers from the s-line model, and kept my original rear shockers.
car now seems to be slightly lower on one side than the other(drivers side sits lower than passenger side)

I can understand it being lower at the front than the back(from what ive been told ) but ive never come across the problem of it being lower on 1 side than the other.

    about 1/2 inch difference!!!

    my car :A4 TDI 2002 B6 SALOON 130BHP

    the other car : A4 TDI S-LINE 2004 B6 130 BHP AVANT.

IVE ONLY HAD FRONT SHOCKERS OFF THE S-LINE.

NEW TOP MOUNTS HAVE BEEN FITTED TO BOTH SIDES.

    Why is it leaning ?

Can you park the car on level ground and measure from the dead centre of each wheel, straight up to the wheel arch lip at 12 o’clock and post the measurements for all four corners?

I will get the measurement (if it ever stops raining) 1 thing i have noticed is there is more gap on the rear (passenger side) arch-tyre,now its got me thinking????????

Has the rear spring (passenger side) been put in upside down or not sitting in the proper place????????

if this is the case (if im rite to say) if passenger rear is lifted,ie more gap........then wouldnt that lower the other side?????? im sure if 1 back arch (passenger side) was higher than the rest of the car it would lower the drivers side front and rear

ive just took both rear wheels off the car and found that both the springs are not sitting properly, the end of the spring should sit on the end of the rubber end stop, but its about 3-4 inches away, which i think will make a difference to the ride height aswell.

Im going to see if the guy is going put them rite in a day or 2 and after that he will be named and shamed!

sounds like the springs are incorrectly seated. However shortened springs can come dislodged if you go over a major bump, unless you have changed to shorter shocks as well

I agree over both points raised by lonky. The front and rear springs must be aligned using a special gauge or all sorts of problems will arise such as bushing wear, tyre scrub etc and shorted springs without matching shortened dampers also cause problems.

what way does the tool work? it wasnt used when my suspension was done. ive only had them in car for a week and not gone over any potholes as such, the springs are not near the rubber end stops, they need spinning around and putting in place,as for drivers side front sitting lower, ive got check that passenger side front spring is in place yet......some people call them selves audi specialists....stay tuned as i will be naming and shaming the person and guarantee crasher knows who it is!!!!

i have found also that a lot of cars sit o/s lower i think it got a lot todo with cars always having a driver and getting more weight on this side always , i have had 4 different cars now with different suspension etc that have sat slightly lower drivers side even with totaly new suspension my s4 sat slightly lower but was on h+r coilovers so i adjusted it accordingly till it was spot on, my corrado with new coils and shocks also sat about 6mm different on each side this i also managed to get rid of with spacers on the front spring seat but its not always possible to adjust ,what i am saying is it happens even when fitted correctly with good components

5-mm is the allowed tolerance on all makes I have dealt with, half an inch is double that but is why I wanted him to measure it accurately. The tool is used to align the top plate and the fork of the damper so as the top plate locations go into the body and the fork goes over the lower pick up without any twisting of the set up being required to get the fork over. The spring ends must abut to the rubber stop on the top plate and the stop on the lower damper plate. Later dampers have a non fixed lower spring plate which does make life easier, earlier lower spring plates are welded to the damper.

im sorry i know what the tool is used for i was saying thats cars tend to sit this way ,and the measurments have to be taken on a perfectly flat floor like an mot bay
