I bought at motorworld last year champion spark plugs ref: RN8VTYC4 .
I bought the same plugs yesterday but the top has changed - there is now a round metal bit that is welded to the top instead of a thin screw end typ fitting. As a result, the leads won't go on. The guy at the shop suggested that these round tops were on the plugs I bought last year and have come off inside the leads but I can't see how!

Any ideas? I'm utterly stumped! He's suggesting that I buy new leads but at 45 quid that's what the service has already cost me in oil and filters etc!

I'd get my money back and go and buy the appropriate Bosch plugs.

Bosch plugs? Hang on the Champion ones were fine last year, exactly the same model part! Have Champion started doing the new terminal nuts then? What's the name of the terminal connection I need?

Okay, turns out the top bits aren't soldered to the spark plug. Imagine my (and the member of staff) embarressment when the manager just says "Why don't you unscrew it?" and demonstrates thus!

I hope someone else finds this topic helpful!!
