    Hi,

I have a polo 1.4 X reg, petrol. Recently fitted a new battery, as the old one was not holding it's charge. A few days ago the car would not start, nothing happened at all when the key was turned- even though all other electric systems worked ok, ie. lights, radio etc. So I thought it will probably be a flat battery (maybe I left the light on or somthing), so I bump started the car and it started up fine. I get home, swith car off and try to restart.....nothing again. Test battery and that is ok, fully charged. I check the fuses....all are ok, and decide to just try starting it again, and suprise, it starts.

Now is is just a coincidence that it started after checking the fuses....could it be an ingition swtich problem? Or something else?

    Hope your can help!

The same thing happened with my 1.4 w reg polo last Friday, had 2 bump start it to get home, i took the starter motor off and it worked fine,so i put it back on now it works!... you could try the battery and starter connections to see if they are tight. The stator motor is the the hardest place 2 get to so you will need to get the car up a hight.
