    Hi folks,

My girlfriend has a 2001 1.6 A3, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to reset the service indicator? She just had it serviced, but the garage said they couldn't reset it.

    Thanks a lot

    Dave

Try this, press and hold the button on the right of your dashclocks. then turn your key into ignition(don't start the car) and 'OIL' should come up on the diplay, now release the button, and pull or rotate the left button to the right for 2 secs to reset the oil service interval. For inspection, do the same to get the 'oil' text on the display, and release the right button, now press it once again to switch to 'inspection' and reset using the left button with the same procedure.
Then ignition off, remove key and all should be done

This actually worked on my 1998 Audi A6 , thanks Rob.

I always take my car to the local garage for servicing because the nearest Audi garage is 30 miles away but they never re-set my service indicator. Finally, I don’t have to look at that annoying indicator every time I start the car. Thanks again.

Is it on fixed 10k service intervals or longlife servicing? The longlife servicing can only be reset using VAGCOM diagnostic software.

10k is good. I completely disagree with the longlife servicing.
