    Hi all.

I've read a few posts about the cables you can get to connect an iPod to the various Audi stereos.

I know this is useful if you want to use the radio controls, or even steering wheel controls to control volume, track etc. I believe the stereo also displays the name of track and artist! I looked in to these for an xmas present for myself but at anything between £70 and £100 I thought that was a bit pricey.

As all I wanted was to play my iPod songs through the radio I looked in to other ways and found the Griffin iTrip.

If you haven't got one then may I suggest you purchase one immediately! You can get them for as little as £9.95!

All you do is plug it into your iPod. Choose an empty FM frequency on your radio and on the iTrip and press play. Beautiful clarity coming out of the cars speakers!!

Obviously this will also work in any car so if you're going on a road trip in a car that is not your own, just take it with you! Much better than a cable, that has to be for the correct stereo, in my opinion.

    Cheers. Enjoy.

    Butler.

PS. I've just realized I was in the Audi A3 section and posted this. Please accept my apologies. It should have not have been put there. Can a mod please move it...

    Hi

I've also got a Griffin iTrip but I think I need to disable the auto-tune on my concert radio to stop the loud beep coming through every minute or so as the radio tries to tune itself to the best frequency.

Do either of you know how to do this? Any help much appreciated!

twotailed you have just described the one flaw with using an FM MP3 transmitter with a Concert radio, you can't get traffic TA's when using it.

The loud beep you are referring to is caused by having the TP button selected. When you tune to an unused frequency for the iTrip, the beep is advising you that no traffic announcements are available for that frequency. To stop the beep you press the TP button to make the red LED go off.

If you have a dedicated line input to the Concert then you can still receive traffic announcements. It's a trade off, but the iTrip is still handy to have.
How beautiful it is to do nothing, and then to sit down afterwards, and rest.............
