    Hello,

I named myself after my car's name "Stalenstier" it sais Steel-Bull in dutch. That's the first impression I got when I stept in from a 6 year old Peugeot which I had totally worn (LPG had burned the third cam-head)

My companion is from 2001 and shows some wear-diseases:
    1. Corroding roof-rails. You know, those fancy chrome rails? Audi allready made them out of stainless steel, for the same reason. Makes me wonder how/if those VAG guys do communicate
    2. Failing passenger rear window motor
    3. Rumbling rear-train. (It's a 4motion)

For these reasons, I will start trying for tips/hints. And I am looking for service manuals in order to get the misgivings repaired without wasting time and materials.

Mayby You guys can tell some hints already?

    Thanks

Welcome to the forum! For techncial questions you're best posting in the appropriate car topic (you don't say what car you have) or the car maintenance thread.

What Peugeot did you have? I had a 306 TurboD until last Feb when the injectors went. I had a load of trouble with the car but it was great fun when it worked. I had it as far north as John O'Groats and as far south as Lands End.

    My car is a VW-Passat Variant 2,5 Tdi, 4motion, 2001 (b5 series?)

The latest Peugeot I had (the one I referred to) was a 405 break
It had a 16cc motor. Running that on LPG costing 10% of power in
highway rush, is asking a little too much. The valves just burned.
Once LPG was quite popular and havily promoted. But what they
didn't tell is the energy that comes from burning LPG. It produces
more heath and less movement power compared to petrol. And
that is wasting your engine. Penny-wise Pound-foolish. It's a shame
anyway, the car had great dynamics for instance.
