Just wondering if someone can help with a problem i experienced this morning after leaving the motorway, i was travelling down to stoke and cruising along fine, came off the slip road into traffic and slowed down.
Went to go into first gear, clutch pedal was fully depressed but it wouldnt slip into gear, i had to pratically ram it into first gear, this was the same going up to 2nd, 3rd etc and back down the gears as well.

Managed to strugle to the office where i reversed into my space (went into reverse without a problem) I sat in the car for 5 minutes or so messing with the gear stick trying each gear but to no avail nothing would happen, then all of a sudden it would go into each gear fine.

Just wondering if this is the start of anything or can it indicate any problems, or could it just have been something stuck in the gear mechanism?

Gave it another go at lunch time and problem was worse than before, rang the RAC who are currently looking at it, he has diagnosed it to be the gear box, he said the oil was a little low so he was going to top that up, if not looks like the gear box is cream crackered and ill be getting a tow home

gear box was completely devoid of oil it seems, RAC guy put in 2 litres and its now back to normal, just advised to get it checked over for any leaks etc.

I am now very relieved that my baby is back on the road

Replace the gearbox links(external of gearbox) that should be in the region of the same price tag as your lunch.
