Hi guys really need your help,

i have a mk 4 golf pd 150 that has been remapped by revotech and a powertech induction kit fitted. everything was wonderful for a time, however i now have trouble when accelerating. the problem is between 2000-2800rpm only, in 3rd, 4th, 5th gear (not 1st, 2nd, 6th gear). The revs increases without the car accelerating, quickly moving from 2000-2800, then back down to 2500 (ish) before accelerating normally. now it only does this when i accelerate hard and only at this point on the rev range. if i keep the revs above 3000 (peak torque) then its behaves perfectly in all gears. i have had the air flow meter changed, and after speaking to a mechanic over the phone they tell me the clutch sounds as if it is slipping, the car has done less than 50000 miles and is fine apart from 2000-2800rpm??? the car shows no other signs of clutch wear. if anyone has any advice or solutions i would be very ablidged, thanks.

    Hi
Not sure this will help you but, my standard 150 has been driven hard always and had a clutch at 69,000 miles. It went suddenly and could be provoked to slip at high speed in 5th and sixth gears only at around 2200rpm ( max boost I think) because the revs rise so quickly beyond 2000rpm it was impossible to tell if it was slipping in 1st or 2nd.

yep, just had it checked and after much umming and arrring it is the clutch slipping going to replace it with a performance clutch and see how that goes. Cheers for the support.
