    Hi Bus driver
I have a seat alhambra 2.0 1998 with exactly the same problem, was told to change lamda(?) sensor then coolant transmitter did both and still no joy. now advised could be throttle valve - have my doubts!! also could be air mass meter but we shall see - booked in for yet another diagnosis on Sat 29/12

hi tony5 hope you got your motor sorted, mine had a lamda fitted 12 m0nths ago and a air flow meter, but that was fitted for another prob (wouldn't rev past 4500 rpm )like a fool had it done at gilders vw in sheffield witch made my wallet £500 lighter.mine still cutting out but like you fed up with getting some guy out to diagnose it to tell me it needs this that and the other spending my hard ernt and it being the same.if you get it sorted let me know i will try same component on mine and hopefully mine will become driverble again, good luck and cheers for the reply.

    Hi bus driver

We took alhambra to garage who stripped down the throttle valve assembly unit and cleaned it all out, and made sure that all parts were working freely especially the butterflies(?). They said she was very sluggish and undrepowered, but that the dealers were only stabbing in the dark re causes.
The results on how she drives now are tremendous and she has not stalled once - it is like driving a new vehicle, absolutely amazing difference. No new parts required and didnt even charge us, only minimal labour costs £50, which is a fraction of what dealers were quoting. Suggest you try same and hopefully you will have some joy like us and give us both a happy new year. good luck!!!
