    I currently have:

Several of the Tesco / Sainsburys reusable bags.
A box with various car bits in (bungee corded to the boot ceiling) that has a socket set, de-icer, torque wrench, extendable tire iron, a small collection of tools and some spray on cleaner that came with the useless RainX I bought)
A day-glow jacket (too small for me, but kept incase the car breaks down and need something to wear).
A saw for cutting at angles I need to do the trim on the wood laminate for the baby's room.
    A hard hat.
    A pair of builders' gloves.

I must sound like Bob the Builder after that description, anyone fancy a guess at what I do for a living?

An electric hot/cool box, 1 litre of Meguiars #80, 1 litre of Meguiars #83, an 18 pack of Carlsberg and an empty ice-cream tub with a detailing cloth inside.

Well, I fibbed, I brought the beers in last night, but they had been rolling around in there since the Friday before Christmas

    Fire Extinghisher

    Bike pump
    Football
one goal keeping glove (middle sons)...(he's not Abu Hamza, the other must be with his kit!!)

    Anti slip matting.
2 solenoid gas valves (class A, 230 volt)

ALL OF THIS (excepting the ball & the goalkeeping glove) IS IN THE SIDE & LOWER COMPARTMENTS!!!

The main thing that I'll miss about the Vectra Estate, is the size of the boot & the useful cubby holes!!....oh & the proper handbrake!!!!
