Well to be honest it was a case of seen it all before but it gave me chance to talk to suppliers like Powerflex, KW, Koni, Eibach etc. I spent most of my time in the engineering section looking at machine tools and dribbling all over the windows of three axis CNC milling machines. I also got to shake hands with a hero of mine, Michael Heseltine (he must have wondered who the scruffy unshaven git was who said good morning) as he is the owner of Haymarket publishing; the event sponsors, and talk to people such as the editor of Volkswagen Driver and Audi Driver magazines who I have known for years and also bumped into another friend of mine who used to be the Ed of VW Motoring but who is know Ed of a caravan mag! So yes I am glad I went but for different reasons to what you might enjoy it for. I did get chance though to speak to Hi-Spec about some calipers for 305-mm front discs on a Golf 1 I am building and a few other details on that car such as custom silicon hoses.
