Dear colleagues, i'am wondering did you know what is approximately lifetime of pump-duse injectors? I have seen a commercials in mobile.de and autoscout24.de for vehicles with +350.000km with pump-duses in good and working condition. So i'm curious about the strength of this engine. I had an Audi B5 with AFN engine which was really good, and i was heard that it can run more than 500.000km without any problems. Thank you for your time!

I have heard it said that the injectors are good for about 100K miles. I did find this a bit of a surprise as I thought it would be considerably longer, bearing in mind the cost of replacement injectors. I would ike to know the life of a PD injector and whether anyone services them ?

They used to fail but that seems to have stopped. These days they are very reliable.

I actually work for a company that makes PD 'type' injectors for the large 16l truck engines, and we warrent them for 1,000,000 miles.

i would say the bosch pd injectors should be happily lifed to 500,000km

If it's a mechanical fault, it doesn't tell you, it has to be an electronic fault.

The scan showed only Cylinder 3 misfiring

Does anyone know that once you change an injector, the others have to be changed as they will have different amount of pressure/stress on the system which will cause them to fail as old injectors?

It is OK to change one injector, the ECU will compensate for slight differences in flow, especially at idle.
