Passat TDI 110 AFN 1997 Sport

Changed Pierburg MAF sensor because of a diag code said so.

    Car is no different.

    I have changed Vac lines.

    New N75 Valve.(second Hand)

Diaphragm holds a vacuum and actuator moves all the way.

Can WD40 sprayed in the vacuum areas like the N75 and diaphragm actuator help ???

TDi Sport Diesel 1997 with a turbo problem ??

As I accelerate with this manual gearboxed car it can get to approx 2,500 RPM in 3rd or 4th and its as though it holds itself back, struggling to move on up through the rev range.

From there it is as flat as a pancake, If you turn off the engine for a few seconds it seems to reset itself and away we go for a while.

    That is the above problem

    Ticket reads :--

    X431 Diag Report Launch

    Smartbox 980245682200

    The date

    Total Codes 2

    Code 001:
00575 Intake manifold pressure Sporadic regulating difference

    Code 002:
00553 Air mass meter G70 Implausible difference

    The name of garage.

Boost leak, Vnt sticking/vnt actuator faulty or not getting enough travel, vacuum pipes not connected/interchanged or leaking. or wiring.

    Have you checked all these?

clean the maf plug connections, drive it with the maf unplugged to see if it goes any better!

BTW, Both codes indicate a fauly maf and/or air leak.

I would be checking boost and vacuum leaks first.

MAF unplugged definately is no better in fact its worse.

If I take off the diaphragm and connect a pipe and shove the other end into my mouth and SUCK how hard should the effort be ??

    On mine its hard (ish).

You can suck to see if it moves, But a mityvac is the only real way to test the actuators full travel.

Unless you can suck like a dyson that is!
