The Air Filter in my 130 tdi is up for its 80k change and i was thinking of replacing it with the K@N replacement. The car is standard power otput although i may have it remapped within the next 12m. Is it worth the extra cost (as they are about £50) over the standard VW version and does anyone have any experience of them with better performance or economy? I see also that Piper do a similar product. Finally I was also going to do the fuel filter and pollen filter as well, so any tips re that also appreciated - Thanks Mark

    Hi,

Haven't used one myself but I understand from other forums that both the K&N and Green cotton ones are supposed to be good replacements, and give better airflow so if you are getting remapped it can all help.

Check out ebay etc for these as you should be able to pick one up for about £40.

Also check out pipercross from awesome GTI, they are £28 and supposed to be good.

Pollen filter easy to change, on the RHS of engine bay next to battery. Fuel again fairly easy, there is a guide on tdiclub.com for this.
