    Hi all. does anyone know what are customers rights when buying a second hand car from an independent dealer , if you notice a fault with the car within a couple of days/ weeks of purchase ?

    We always buy our cars from a local chap that just has a lock up garage and does mot's and servicing/ repairs etc, and then runs the car sales business from his house, and he told us he has to give 3 months warranty by law for all the cars he sells.

    I dont know to what extent the warranty covers.
