Cam belt change

I tried to make sense of the service book info for my 2004 Golf Mk V 2.0 TDI Sport as to when the cam belt should be changed. Having failed I rang the main dealer where I bought the car from and was told 40k or 4 years. Not convinced this was correct I rang three other main dealers in my area and was told 60k or 4 years by two dealers and 80k by the other. The third dealer said my engine is a BKD type (I think) therefor 80k is the correct figure. Can anyone confirm what the correct figure is please.

yeah i was looking at this to! depending where you look you'll get a different answer... I don't think there is def milage for the change but i think i would probably get it done around 40 onwards better safe than sorry but thats just me be over pre-cautious aiiiii.!

just had my golf gt tdi sports service 04 reg ( at main dealers )and they said 80,000 for cambelt so ive just had the long life service what will cover me for 20,000 and have service and timing belt done on next service
