Passenger door window switch light

Hi All,

We have bought a new (52 plate) polo 1.2, the passenger door electric Window switch stays lit up ALL the time, even when the car is switched off and locked, the driver door switches go off with the lights but not the passenger side.

no combination of switches ever turns off the light, while this isnt causing a problem but im unsure as to why its permanently on.

is it

1, a normal thing on a POLO,
2, some sort of warning of a problem
3, some sort of botched DIY job because of a previous problem
4, a major problem with the wiring of the car.

any advice is welcome,

i could remove the bulb but as its not really causing any problem i dont really need to, and also if it is part of the security system then i dont want to jeopardise that even though the car does NOT have an alarm fitted as far as we know, it has central locking but NOT remote locking.
