    Hi All
Anyone have experience of VW Tourans that drain their batteries? The battery is fine, but when the car is left for even 12 hours the battery is flat.
It jumpstarts ok. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance. I have a 53 reg 2.0 TDI Sport.

did you ever find out? I have exactly the same problem with exactly the same car! thought it was the hands free kit but now I'm thinking it may be the central locking...

    several issues
    1 the door ecus
2 the central elecrics box by battery gets water ingress
get diag test done then isolate by removing fuses 1by1 with ammeter connected to isolate circuit

thank you. Did the fuse test, both central (which was ok) and the one under the steering wheel, and fuse 49 - central locking was drawing 0.37Amps (think I got that right!) not sure where to go now other than shell out a vw garage to sort it out. could it be the central locking pump? I replaced the tailgate microswitch about a year ago, but doubt that's relevant.... cheers

    Thanks.
I still have no idea. My airbag has a persistent warning light. It could be that. I need to do the ammeter and sequential fuse removal tactic. What makes you think its the central locking?

I know there where issue with the radio's draining the battery. You can try disconnecting it and checking the battery draw.It may take a couple of hours for everything to shut down so you get an accurate reading! Also with the radio or any component disconnected you may get a draw which will be the ecu 'searching' for the disconnected component! Its worth trying anyway!
