Over the Xmas period with all local garages closed the warning light for front brake pad wear came on. I duly acquired the appropriate set of pads as I decided to change them myself-a job that I have done numerous times before on other carsn (Omega, Carlton, Montego, Maestro etc.) Using the Haynes manual as ag uide I took the first wheel off, removed the pad locating spring and the tried to unfastem the warning light wire. The manual told me to lift the clip on top and then turn through 90 degrees. On top of this connection is a small channel sheped piece of metal with what looks like a small tab sticking up through a small hole at the back end. Nothing relating to this channel piece seems to move. Am I missing something or is this a different fitting to what is referred to in the Haynes manul. Advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Allen
