Hi there, I have recently bought a 55 plate sportback and absolutely love it. It came with aftermarket 18" S-line 'alike' wheels. When I picked the car up I forgot to ask the guy what pressure he ran in the tyres.

Can anybody help please? The tyres, if it's important, are 225/40/18 PZero Rossos. Ihave looked in the manual but this only refers to the standard 17" wheels.

To quote Prof Clarkson "the ride is stiffer than a schoolboy in a sex shop", but it looks the business.

Thanks, I'll give it a go. 36psi seems a lot but then maybe it's the weight of the Diesel engine. I'm an oil-burner virgin

    Cheers

Mines a 3.2Q so not sure if they’ll be any different, presume the Diesel will weigh a bit too.

    seems high to me ....

I have an 07 sportback with the same size tyres - it is a 2.0 TDi - not sure if this changes the figures or not ?

but, and I am quoting from the audi tyre pressure list on the fuel filler door:

    Front: (PSI)
    32 - up to 100mph and upto 3 people
    35 - over 100 mph and 3 people
38 - 5 people and lots of luggage

    Rear: (PSI)
    28 - up to 100mph and upto 3 people
    30 - over 100 mph and 3 people
    38 - 5 people and 3 lots of luggage

not sure if that helps at all ....

I run mine about 30 rear and 33/34 front ...

If it's an Audi sticker inside the filler cap it must be right.

Mine is a 2.0TDi Sport Sportback. I've just checked and the sticker in mine only refers to 16" or 17" wheels. The 18" wheels I have are aftermarket looky-likies so there's nothing on the car or in the doc's to help. Thanks for the info, I'll give those a go. I've tried 36psi and the ride is damn hard (Makes my MINI seem comfortable!)

no worries, glad to help out.

Mine is sportback 2.0TDI s-line so comes as standard with the 18" wheels that you have fitted. So the pressures on my list should do you just fine.

But it is always fun to try different settings etc ..

My E-Tyres guy said that the 36 that i was running at was too much.

They wore in the centres and not so even.

i have 32-34 all round and the wear is more even
