    • hi got 2001 a4 auto. trans is in limp mode, abs light on dash flashing at me. garage fitted exchange abs ecu. still got fault cant get mot due to light on they have told me it is probably an earthing fault? somewhere in wiring anybody had simular fault help! there is canbus communcation faults from trans & abs in fault codes & they wont clear

    Sometime two modules with faults lock each other out when the bus reboots.

    First try disconnecting battery for a minute ( hope you have radio code if needed)

    Then see if it resets.

    If not disconect battery, and then ABS, reconnect battery and try to reset transmission.

    then disconnect battery, reconnect ABS and try reseting that.

    Have known that to work.

    You will need a copy of VAG-COM and the correct lead for your car.
