ARGHHH Dash not working!!!!!!

After the issues with my brake light switch i thought i was in for some easy motoring.
Went to Tesco's to do a bit of the old Xmas shopping. Came out started the old girl up and......

Oil light flashing, thought it may just be low so gently revved engine fully expecting it to go out which it didnt....temp gauge reading half with the red warning light on, fuel gauge reading half with orange warning light on. Speedo not working, Tach not working...trip computer not working.

Got home, drove ok....
Turned her off, turned key back to electrics on, some of the dash lights flashing really really fast but very faintly. Started her up, running ok...

WHAT NOW??????

Cant wait for tmy VAG COM Lead to turn up....anyone in Cornwall, desperate now...

This is weird....tried several times yesterday with the same thing happening..went to start the car this morning and its all working again!

ok its doing it again!!!! pretty sure it must be a loose connection somewhere.

How many connectors are there in and around the dash/engine bay and are the fairly easy to get to?
