Its starting to get cold now and I have noticed a bit of grey smoke when starting my 02 Tdi sport, and a very slight hesitation when started, that is it takes a fraction longer turning over before its starts.

With my past diesels I have used some injector cleaner when this happened.

I am thinking of putting some in, just in case, and to know it has been done, had the car 6 months now.

Which one would people recommend for a the 130 pd engine? and is it worth it ?

IMO (and it only mine), injector cleaner was a waste of money

Better to give the engine an italian tune up once in a while to clear the rubbish oil sloshing around the intercooler pipe work.

Italian tune up = hammer the car down the motorway at high revs until she coughs all that dirty crud stuck inside her out the back.

Dont redline her though.... Just border it a bit

I used some of that stuff on my Clio (diesel). Cant say I noticed any difference but I am not inside the engine It deffo didnt do any damage and it only costed a 5er. Mind you. I've only used half of it... supposed to use the other half on the next fill up...takes ages between fillups, 650 miles . Oh, and I do the italian tuneups almost every day so my injectors must be shining.

The EGR vaule may be a little dirty...

These can be replaced or cleaned depending on budget and time

Wouldn't a dodgy EGR show up as hesitation when accelerating?
