    Hello all,

Recently bought a 2003 Audi A3. Really good car but every so often the ESP warning light comes on after a few miles driving. On other occassions I can drive 50 miles and it doesn't happen. Can anyone explain why this might happen or what the likely cost would be to get it sorted?

It will probably be an acceleration sensor fault but you need to get the ABS fault code read to see what is stored.

    Hi
I am assuming it illuminates and stays on until you re-start? Is this true? My A6 did it once, which gave me a bit of a surprise, but my mate had an A3 which was doing the same. The ABS sensor on the rear was replaced and it was sorted. But before you go changing sensors and all that, just check the ABS wires etc are not trapped or corroded, as I've heard they can get trapped and cause the faults you are describing.
    Good luck!

i have a 2002 a3 tdi sport which had this fault especially when cold. It was the number 2 cylinder pump injector, cost £700 to repair and now its gone again. Now entering warranty battle with dealer and audi UK. Going through car history this is the third one in 4 years all at main dealers all paid for.Great warranty system!
