mk4 1.6 engine conversion

i have mk4 golf with the 1.6 lump
what other engines could i convert it to?

Any engine providing you have the cash.

Best advise though would be to change the car.

The 1.8t or TDI 130 are both good and buying either, insuring it etc would be cheaper than doing a conversion and then trying to insure the conversion.

Any such conversion would be a pointless nightmare and almost any conversion you can think of is available in the car from the factory. The only two I could recommend are a 2.8 or 2.9 10 valve VR6 or the Audi 225PS 1.8T. If you want something else, sell the car and buy one ready made.
