    Dont take it to the dealers bud - an aftermarket VW specialist will likely be more knowledgeable. VW are just fitters, not mechanics.... IMHO.
    I dont know too much about your area unfortunately, but may be able to find out. Otherwise the branch staff at one of the main players in the area, Andrew Page, should be able to point you in the right direction, and provide oe parts cheaper than dealers.

    i have the exact same problem on my 03 golf gt tdi 130 bhp . clutch sticking and having to release it with my foot. i have changed the clutch master cylinder /clutch pedal. to find out that the clutch still is not workin properly any ideas on what else it could be as i am feeling just like that little red chap on the left. if not can any1 put me in touch with a good vw specialist near leicester. preferably not vw them selves after reading some posts about vw them selves. have not had the car long and was enjoying driving it until now . pls help

    Sounds like the master cylinder to me still, but weird if changed. In leicester, youre lucky Big Johns Auto Centre, Southampton St I think, is one of the biggest clutch specialists in the UK and an honest chap. Owner is John Hughes.
