Hi there, I opened the fuse compartment on the driver's side and noticed that I have some fuses missing . i.e. No 1, 9, 41 and several fuses for ABS are fitted. The main reason why I went there in the first place was to check if the fuse for my alarm was blown coz its not sounding any more and I dont even know where to look for the siren box under the bonnet . Central locking works. Checked on the small card and there was no mention of alarm fuse or they may be using a diagram that am not familiar with representing the alarm. Does any one have a fuse diagram for a 9/1999 1.8 20v 125bhp? No water has gone to the wrong places yet. Otherwise the car is superb.

    Thanks.

Look carefully into the empty locations, if you can see one metal connection point or none, no fuse should be fitted but if there are two connection points, there should be a fuse in that position.

The siren is fitted on top of the nearside front wing under the bonnet. Check the connections first. I thought all the fuses were listed in the handbook.

Thanks for replies. Had a good look at the fuse box next to the drivers door. All were intact as per crashers advice . However I got dismayed that am supposed to have heated side mirrors (i think fuse nine) as explained on the card plus the small knob on the door for side mirrors but there was no fuse and no metal connectors inside the two fuse holes. Any other place vw might hide the tiny fuses?

Saw the siren for the alarm (passenger side) the connections seem fine so I think its the battery thats gone. How do I remove it and whats the part number? Or do I need to have a fault code done prior to touching anything?

    Thanks

The heated mirrors fuse isn't used on your version, they are powered from the convenience system.
