You dont need to go to VW - a decent motor factor will supply the same parts at much lower prices. Where you based?
www.buypartsby.co.uk are very cheap oe mail order parts.

Make sure whoever is fitting the clutch knows how to check the DMF. LuK (The DMF's OE suppliers) aftermarket technical hotline 08457 001100 if they don't.....

I hope you don't mind me butting in and asking, but how do you check the Dual mass flywheel. I am changing my clutch shortly and hope to get away without chnging it, there are no symptoms of a problem with the DMF but while its apart it would be best to replace it if necessary. Me car is also a tdi 130 pd, with 70k miles, I'm changing the clutch at the same time as replacing the gearbox.
    Many thanks

Rotationally there should be 15-30mm. 8mm of which free play, then some movement on the springs until it gets too hard to move by hand. 2-3mm rocking also on the centre bush like a wheel bearing.
Also checking for overheating/blueing of the drive surface.
Normally though its fairly obvious when they are dead with loads of movement, or none at all. You may also be able to hear when a DMF is worn on starting and turning off the engine - click play here http://www.pauloz.co.uk/dmf.htm
    Hope that helps!

70k is a bit of a tough descision. Much more, and I'd change the dmf anyway, but a DMF should last 120k+. Depends if you plan to keep the car for another 50k or so, in which case id probably change it anyway to save money long term. A knackered DMF will take the clutch with it.... not to mention 5-6 hours labour for the work, which youre getting foc with the gearbox change.

my golf is due a new clutch and dmf soon and as i am keeping the car i am going to change the dmf as i dont want to do two jobs.
i have drove the car hard for the last 15k and the dmf gets louder and with vibrations in the car.
the cheapest place i found was euro car parts for around 285 with the dmf vw wanted around 353.pounds gsf around the same so try euro.
    hope this helps rich.....

The other side of the coin tho is that whover is fitting it, will probably charge you more if theyre not supplying the parts. Also, a big garage will get much better prices than someone off the street, so even with their markup may be around the same price - with a cheaper job overall, and much better position to be in should something go wrong at a later date.

With euro be carefull of which clutch they supply. They have their own brand 'Transmec' which are cheap copies. Their first line clutch is meant to be sachs which is ok as long as you dont get one of the 20% whcih can be remanufactured - but with a dmf, you should get the LuK OE one. Be careful though
    GSF will supply LuK.
